Benefit Concert for Detained Immigrants

The Interfaith Committee for Detained Immigrants is sponsoring a benefit concert on Sunday, November 4, 2012 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm in LaGrange Park, IL. Sisters of Mercy Pat Murphy and JoAnn Persch helped found the group in their quest to provide pastoral care and other support for detained immigrants. This committee and their work is featured in Band of Sisters.

The concert will take place at the beautiful Chapel of the Congregation of St. Joseph, 1515 West Ogden Avenue, in LaGrange Park, IL. The concert features original social justice songs by renowned composer and performer Sr. Kathy Sherman, C.S.J., along with Latino classics on piano by Fr. Mike Shanahan, and spirited music by Chicago's Holy Cross Marimba Band. Tickets are $40/Adults, $30/Seniors, and $20/Students and are available at the door.

All proceeds from the concert will benefit The McHenry County Jail Pastoral Care Ministry Program and the Post-Detention Accompaniment Program.
