Sister Nancy Sylvester's life as a Monroe IHM has been marked by leadership at the national level. In her work as lobbyist and national coordinator of NETWORK, a national Catholic social justice lobby, she helped establish a progressive Catholic voice in U.S. political discourse and policy. As president of LCWR (the Leadership Conference of Women Religious, a national organization representing 95% of U.S. sisters) Nancy and her team faced significant controversies with the Catholic church hierarchy. Band of Sisters finds her at a crossroads, trying to find a path amidst the impasse many people are now experiencing in our political systems, our religious institutions, our society, and our relationship with the planet.
